We provide specialized technical advice to create the perfect packaging for your product. We work with you to develop customized solutions that meet your specific needs.
Solution: Agribolsa studied post-harvest handling and gas concentrations (oxygen and carbon dioxide), and developed MAP packaging with adequate permeability. Post-harvest recommendations from UC Davis were included.
Result:
Oxidation and unpleasant odors were prevented, extending the product's shelf life to 24 days.
Problem:
Enzymatic browning at the cut point, causing oxidation and browning that affects the appearance and perceived quality of the product.
Solution:
AGRIBOLSA's R&D team studied the post-harvest handling of Brussels sprouts and made recommendations to reduce the problem at the cut, such as immediate cooling and temperature reduction. This was combined with MAP packaging that slows the respiration rate and preserves quality. Result obtained With these combined techniques, along with adequate MAP packaging, the quality of Brussels sprouts was preserved for up to 28 days, which increased demand.
Problem:
The increased respiration rate of cut lettuce after cutting causes problems such as browning, accelerated respiration, moisture loss, and microbial growth. This reduces freshness, texture, and nutritional value.
Solution:
AGRIBOLSA studied the process. We recommend using sharp blades, antioxidants (such as ascorbic acid), and keeping the lettuce cool (0-4°C). We also developed MAP packaging to reduce respiration and maintain quality. Result: With these improvements, the lettuce maintains its quality for up to 21 days.
