Preservation of the Quality of Chile Morrón, MAP packaging 3 and 6 units
Problem
The bell pepper due to dehydration caused by a macro-perforated packaging, had poor quality and appearance. This caused wilting, rough texture and opacity in the skin, which reduced its visual appeal and commercial value.
Solution
The R&D team of AGRIBOLSA recommended the use of humidifiers, storing above 7°C and 90% RH. Additionally, tests were carried out with MAP packaging, with the appropriate permeability that reduced the respiration rate, avoiding dehydration through the appropriate atmosphere technology for the 3 and 6 unit presentations per package.
Result
As a result, with these combined techniques, but above all using modified atmosphere packaging, the loss of moisture was prevented and the quality was preserved with a good appearance up to 30 days after packaging.
